Dear God

I didn't think it was possible. I told myself there is no way on this planet that the pope and bishops would conspire to turn the Catholic Church up side down by allowing people living in mortal sin to approach the Lord and receive Him in Holy Communion. How can they do this?

As all Catholics know or should know, is, when we've committed a mortal sin (i.e. committed a deadly sin or broke one of the commandments) we must go to confession, with a contrite heart and ask God to forgive us and then the Jesus, through the priest, absolves us from that sin. This has been the teaching of the Church since day one.

So the liberals, who believe all things should be allowed without any consequence, have

helped the liberal bishops to declare that when it comes to marriage, all things are ok, gay marriage, couples living in adultery (not married in the Church in a second or third marriage), couples living together out of marriage, and so forth.  Now these people will be permitted to go to Holy Communion without confession. Without stopping the sin. So why even have the sacrament of reconciliation?

Dear God, you can't possibly be happy about this situation. So what is to be done? Will God say 'enough is enough' and bring to this world a chastisement that has never be seen? And if He did, would people finally realize that this Church is in dire need of good bishops and a good pope to lead God's people down the right path towards eternal life.

I apologize to you Lord, for all of mankind. We have been so horrible to you and not at all thankful for the good things you have given us. We have offended you to the point of damnation and will our prayers to you even help us anymore?

The best thing a Catholic can do now, is pray the rosary and persevere in praying the rosary, because only Mary can hold back the arm of her Son and I would imagine that by now Jesus is getting ready to say to Mary, "Mother, I've given them chances over and over again and still they sin". St Paul tells us what will happen to us if we go to Holy Communion unworthily. It's not pretty.

Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
